Hollow Lantern
★★★★★ 4.6
Hollow Lantern is quiet and a little sad in the best way. You explore an abandoned coastal town, solving environmental puzzles and slowly piecing together what happened to everyone. It's not scary, just heavy with atmosphere.
The puzzles are fair and clever, built into the world rather than dropped on top of it. We rarely needed a hint, and when we did the answer felt obvious in hindsight, which is the sign of good design.
At around six hours it's the perfect length. It says what it wants to say and then lets go.
What we liked
- Rich, melancholy atmosphere
- Puzzles woven into the story
- Just the right length
